BMW Motorrad Celebrates Record-Breaking Sales in 2024

What a thrilling year it has been for BMW Motorrad. The Munich-based giant has just announced a remarkable achievement—selling 210,408 motorcycles in 2024, the highest number in the company’s history. This milestone represents not just sales figures, but a testament to the brand’s enduring appeal and innovation in the motorcycling world.

Germany continues to lead the charge as the largest market, and it’s no wonder with a diverse portfolio that has captured the imagination of riders everywhere. Exciting new models like the formidable BMW M 1000 XR and S 1000 XR, along with fan-favourites such as the adventurous R 1300 GS and GS Adventure, have solidified BMW’s reputation for excellence.

Markus Flasch, head of BMW Motorrad, expressed his gratitude, stating, “With the strongest sales result in company history, BMW Motorrad remarkably claims the 1st Place in the global Premium Motorcycle segment.” This success is fuelled by a commitment to innovation, a stellar product range, and an unwavering focus on brand strength. For 2025, the outlook is bright; we can only anticipate what groundbreaking models and events lay ahead.

The figures tell a compelling story. In Europe alone, BMW Motorrad sold 118,727 motorcycles, with Germany accounting for 26,177 units—an impressive 8% increase over the previous year. Other strong markets included France, Italy, and Spain, all contributing to an overall sales boost.

Beyond Europe, markets like the USA (17,272 units), Brazil (15,267 units), China (13,872 units), and India (8,301 units) played significant roles in this record performance. It’s clear that the allure of BMW motorcycles knows no bounds.

Performing outstandingly were the iconic R 1300 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, which collectively found a home with over 68,000 customers. Meanwhile, the sporty and dynamic BMW S 1000 RR solidified its position in the super-sport category with 11,610 units sold.

The F-series models continued to impress, contributing significantly to the overall success with nearly 40,890 units sold. In the sub-500cc market, the versatile G 310 series saw strong sales as well, solidifying BMW’s reach into various segments.

Even in the Urban Mobility arena—featuring popular models like the C 400 GT and the new electric options, the BMW CE 04 and CE 02—more than 20,000 units were sold, showcasing BMW’s commitment to modern mobility solutions.

Looking ahead, Stephan Reiff, head of sales and brand, assures us that BMW Motorrad will not rest on its laurels. With plans for new innovations and world premieres in 2025, both customers and fans can expect an exciting year filled with fresh offerings and spirited events.

As BMW Motorrad rides into the future, one thing is certain: the thrill of two wheels is far from over. Expect to be inspired in 2025, when innovation and adventure await!
