If the INEOS Grenadier is one of the best things to happen to the 4×4 and overlanding markets in recent years, then one of the best things to happen to the Grenadier has to be Black Sheep Innovations.
Thomas Grütter, Black Sheep’s ceo and chief designer, has spent the last couple of years developing new products for INEOS’ first 4×4. If you haven’t come across Black Sheep’s products before, I can assure you that Thomas has a remarkable knack of thinking outside of the box.
I’ll never forget the time I was called over to “see something I would like”. Thomas went on to demonstrate the very first slide-out rear light clusters on his heavily modified Amarok – Rear Light Extensions, as they are correctly termed.
Black Sheep’s product range is exclusive in the sense the company has neither an inch-thick catalogue filled with countless items, nor does it rely on Asian mass production to satisfy customer demand. Thomas has built the Black Sheep brand upon Swiss engineering and 100% local manufacture.
BRAND NEW ACCESSORIES FOR THE GRENADIER
Thomas told me he is directing all of his energy into the brand new range of accessories, specifically designed for the Grenadier, and will be displaying a fully equipped vehicle at this year’s Abenteuer & Allrad in Bad Kissingen.
I have yet to see the Black Sheep Grenadier to be displayed, but I have been assured it will be equipped with:
- Full vinyl wrap
- Raised suspension
- Larger wheels and tyres
- Heavy duty rockslides and optional steps
- 3 different drawer systems for the load area
- Auxiliary heating
- MOLLE system (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment)
- Spare wheel mount adapter for larger wheels and tyres
- Side mounts for canisters and/or sand planks
- Roof rack system
- Side-mounted folding table
- Road Shower adapter
- Solar system for improved autonomy
- New 180° and 270° awnings from Clevershade
- New stealth radiator grill
- and more …
These new products are not yet on their website, so I will be dedicating individual previews to several of them over the next few days.
