Field Tested: REV’IT! Fargo Jacket

Traditional materials in a new guise.

For those who know me, I’m a big fan of traditional attire especially if I can integrate it with my lifestyle both on and off the job. So, when REV’IT! announced they were launching a new jacket that combined Cordura denim with resilient goat hide and perforated cow nappa, I was keen to see what they had created. My expectations were high and I wasn’t to be disappointed.

The Fargo jacket is a continuance of REV’IT!’s brash approach to engineering denim to perform when the going gets tough whilst creating garments rich in fashionable prowess and even understatement. The Cordura applications are quilted at the shoulders and lead down to smooth panels across the chest which are subsequently underlined by a horizontal strip of black perforated nappa. The main body and outer sleeves are tailored from a deep brown supple goat’s hide offering excellent resistance against abrasion. The inside of the sleeves repeat the black perforated nappa for improved ventilation on long summer rides. Sturdy zips adorn the centre, the cuffs, and two side pockets. Three more pockets inside provide ample room for personal items.

High-quality Cordura® denim, resilient goat hide and perforated cow nappa leather—and it fits like a glove.

REV’IT! designers have created a tailored fit that conceals CE Level 1 protectors at the elbows and shoulder. The Jacket can be upgraded with a Level 2 back protector. As far as riding is concerned, the Fargo offers great wind protection, remains comfortable on hot days and allows for unrestricted scope of movement. If so desired, the jacket can also be attached to jeans if you wear the Safeway belt.

As far as I am concerned, the Fargo has complimented my wardrobe and, together with a T-shirt and jeans, is the combination of functionality and appearance that makes me feel safe on the road and comfortable at work and play.
