Of all the different types of fruit peel, orange is the real multitasking talent. Its versatility makes it a useful companion at home and in the workshop. Terpenes extracted from the peel make an extraordinary cleansing agent which the car chemical specialist LIQUI MOLY has turned into a highly efficient product—the Orange Terpene Cleaner.
“Residual adhesive from old vignettes, body trim or wheel balancing weights on rims; all child’s play for the new Orange Terpene Cleaner. Not even oil, grease or wax have a chance. All the more reason why this new product belongs in every workshop,” says Dieter Otto, a car care products expert at LIQUI MOLY. The fogging caused when applying underbody protection, cavity sealant or lubricant spray leaves traces on and along the sills, hinges, joints and channels. “Our Orange Terpene Cleaner dissolves it all in the blink of an eye. Wipe down. Finished. That’s far quicker than time-consuming masking of the area before you even start the application.”
“And that’s not everything this orange-based cleaner has up its sleeve,” reveals Dieter Otto. The universal cleansing agent makes short work of silicone residue in the bathroom or around windows. Even permanent marker on a windscreen or painted body panel is swiftly removed. Spray on the cleaner and wipe down with a microfibre cloth. “The Orange Terpene Cleaner is powerful against dirt and, unlike other agents with similar cleaning properties, it is acetone-free. Acetone is highly aggressive and can damage or destroy plastics. And to make things worse, acetone can be absorbed by the skin even if you are wearing disposable gloves,” continues the LIQUI MOLY expert.
Orange terpenes are a natural solvent sourced 100% from renewable raw materials. Dieter Otto briefly explains the manufacturing process: “After oil has been extracted from orange peel, it is distilled using steam to produce terpenes, a highly concentrated form of orange oil.”
There are a number of orange oil-based products on the market. Depending on the surface to be cleaned, you need to either dilute the agent with water before use or immediately rinse the area with water and a cloth after application to prevent the orange oil causing any damage. The LIQUI MOLY cleaner is far simpler to use: “Our Orange Terpene Cleaner recipe has been optimised for ease of use without compromising its efficiency,” emphasises the LIQUI MOLY cleaning expert. This ensures it is easier, faster and more cost-effective for the workshop.
And there’s a pleasant side effect too: There is a fresh note in the air after cleaning. Dieter Otto: “Our new product is the decathlete amongst the cleaning products and belongs in every workshop and household.”
